The SNE-NICHD Transcriptome Profiling web page makes RNA-seq data from the NICHD Section on Neuroendocrinology accessible to investigators interested in dynamic changes in the pineal transcriptome.

Data has been drawn from studies on the zebrafish, chicken, mouse, rat, rhesus macaque, and human. In most cases samples have been obtained at midday and midnight; in some cases more frequent sampling has been employed. In addition, data from developmental studies on the rat are available.

Raw data from all experiments have been completely reanalyzed using the latest available assemblies and annotations and using a uniform processing pipeline for consistent results (see bioinformatics methods).

Processed data are available in several forms:

  • download as Excel spreadsheets for all genes, from the experiment details page
  • view as bar plots on individual gene pages (see, for example the page for human AANAT, or search for a gene of interest)
  • browse genomic signal in track hubs on the UCSC Genome Browser. For example, the human AANAT signal across all samples can be viewed here.

Figures generated by the web page are in the public domain and can be used freely, citing the URL of the web page.
